 WHO IS THE KATE CHOPIN?

Hello, Have you ever heard about "Kate Chopin"? most people don't know who is she or he. However, she is the founder of women's literature in the 19th century and a very important 

figure who improved women's rights through feminist activities. Why did she profoundly influence American literature in the 19th century? 

In the 19th century, women's literature was too low than men's. so the reason lots of women's life looks like slaves to their husbands or like that, Kate Chopin wrote an article criticizing women's rights and a patriarchal society. she was the first time women have spoken out to the world.

Kate Chopin's life

Kate Chopin was born Katherine O'Flaherty on February 8, 1850, in St. Louis, Missouri, and she attended the St. Louis Academy of the Sacred Heart, a Catholic school, Surprisingly, she was talented in reading and writing. At 20, Kate married Oscar Chopin and they moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, Kate's life looked like 'Happy ever after' but her husband Oscar died of malaria. so Chopin started writing to support her family and cope with depression. and she wrote the legend of the female novel "The Awakening".

"The Awakening" is a novel by Kate Chopin, first published in 1899. Why this novel was so popular and famous in the 19th century? It is considered one of the famous feminist novels and good to shows us the passion for women's rights and independence in American literature at the end of the ninth century. Also, the story was interesting because the main character's name is Edna psychological changes, and various expressions that symbolize feminism, independence, and freedom could be seen.
